How we work

A single partner from first assessment to ongoing operation

Our engagement begins with a clear-eyed assessment of your current compliance position and operating risk, then moves through documentation and implementation to a system your own team can run without us.
Rather than handing over a report and moving on, we remain embedded within your business, refining systems and building capability as your projects, sites and risk profile continue to evolve further.

Our process

A proven path from assessment to embedded systems

Every engagement follows a structured path, tailored to your sites and risk profile, from initial assessment through to fully embedded operation.

1

01Initial Site Assessment

Hazards, existing controls and your current compliance position are assessed across every active site before any work begins.

2

02Documentation Build

SWMS, risk assessments, management plans and registers are drafted to meet the specific requirements of your sites and contracts.

3

03System Implementation

Documentation, contractor onboarding and client representation arrangements are rolled out across your sites and integrated into daily operations.

4

04Audit And Inspection

Site inspections and audits are conducted on a regular basis, with corrective actions tracked through to close-out.

5

05Continuous Review

The system is reviewed at agreed intervals and adjusted as your projects, sites and risk exposure change over time.

FAQ

Common questions,
considered answers

Here are the questions clients ask most often before deciding to formally engage our services.

What does a WHS consultant actually do day to day?

A WHS consultant develops and manages the documentation, contractor checks and site systems required to keep a business compliant with WHS legislation, but just as importantly, trains and mentors everyone in the business, from field staff through to executive leadership, so compliance and safety become part of how people work, not a bolt-on.
One-off consultants deliver a report and depart. An embedded consultant such as KLB remains within your business, builds your systems and continues managing them, so compliance does not lapse once the engagement is invoiced.
We work primarily with construction, civil infrastructure, telecommunications and government clients, along with related sectors facing similar site-based WHS and contractor management requirements.
Our Lead Auditor qualification covers ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, while our Lead Investigator qualification covers ICAM. Together, these mean audits and incident investigations are handled to a recognised professional standard.
Insurances, licences and certifications are checked before subcontractors commence work, and registers are kept current so your compliance position holds throughout the project, not only at the outset.
This depends on the size of your operation and how much WHS documentation already exists. We assess this properly during your initial consultation, so expectations are clear before any work begins.
